“Shining a light on someone else doesn’t diminish mine. Take time here to encourage people and lift them up.” — Bernice King

| Why We Serve
Hey There, I’m Alicia!
I’ve spent nearly two decades in technology, with experience spanning both private and public sector in both industry and consulting roles, driving organizational agility and facilitating Agile transformations while building dynamic teams and transformative product delivery.
The last few of years of my career have brought much revelation as I’ve stepped into people leadership. Now more than ever - given the state of the world and the statistics of Black Women in technology, I realize the need for stronger community, connection, and support.
My passion has always been to create environments that leverage an Agile mindset & Scrum values - those that foster a culture of respect, empathy, and teamwork. Along my career journey, I've experienced or been witness to what transpires when those values are lacking, especially for Black Women. We often operate in environments of “known variables" (i.e., systemic racism & microaggressions contributing to lack of support and growth in the industry) and while we continue fighting for change, it is imperative that we create communities to uplift and support Black Women as they navigate their careers in tech.
This revelation has unearthed a NEW passion -
Creating content and programs that AFFIRM, VALIDATE, and ENCOURAGE women in technology, and more specifically, uplift and support Black Women as they navigate the nuanced world of corporate tech.
I want to see Black Women SHINE and THRIVE in technology - and I know that together, we can! I’m excited and look forward to creating space for #thrivingtogether and fostering an uplifting community of support where we can allow our collective light to shine (Matthew 5:14-16)!
